My Life

After my divorce, I wasn't sure where to take my life. I'm a single mom with this great kid and I wasn't sure how to restructure our lives. A good friend gave me the best advice: "Do what you know how to do and you'll find your way." I love design, so that was where I started.

As I repainted and repurposed furniture and even houses, I realized that I was not only brightening my living space, I was also brightening my life. Through rediscovering design, I rediscovered myself.

That's the journey I want to take you on. I've found that the key to good design is only in including pieces you truly love in your space - just like the key to a good life is focusing on the people and things you truly love.

I also invite you to keep up with my journey and all of my quirkiness through my blog and Facebook. I'll chit-chat about my life as an art teacher and a single mom, and of course, I'll share design tips and DIYs.

My Partner in Adventures

For all of the things my hands have held, the best by far is my son, Gavin.  He is my munchkin, my crazy little man.  His energy and wit keep my perspective fresh and my heart open. His mind is so creative and he often works on projects by my side.  I randomly include Gavin's ideas into the designs I create.  (And a little secret, sometimes his ideas are better than mine!) You'll see him a lot on this site and there will be lots of chatter about my journey with him on my blog. More than I'm constantly discovering myself through design, I'm discovering myself by spending everyday with him by my side.

My Experience

  • I've flipped dozens of houses.
  • I had my own home staging company.
  • I have real estate appraisal experience.
  • I've helped countless individuals discover themselves through style.
